History of Romanian Penticostals

Description

This book tells the story of the Romanian Pentecostal community in Austria — a journey of faith and belonging. It documents how families, escaping hardship and oppression, built new lives while holding firmly to their spiritual traditions.

As the designer, my goal was to make this history both accessible and visually engaging. The community wanted a book that everyone could afford, so the design balances cost-effectiveness with quality. Each page was carefully structured to include as much content as possible, while leaving space for large, impactful photographs that bring the story to life.

The chapter concept was my contribution, providing a clear rhythm and flow to the narrative, especially since the coordinator, with all his wisdom, is a bit older and valued a straightforward structure. One of the book’s unique touches is the set of illustrations — each church building drawn as a small, refined detail. These illustrations add personality and connect readers visually to the places where this history unfolded.

The result is a book that is not only a chronicle of a community’s past but also a keepsake that reflects their spirit — simple, affordable, and rich with meaning.
